Questions don't bother me at all, I prefer them they show interest. I will have to say no to the ogryn or vets as they would be in their own squad rather than a rifleman platoon. However you can make your character as experienced as you can via points available. All weapon details are laid out in the Added Docs post I have most imperium weapons laid out in a excel spreadsheet in the same manor that the gurps books have them. Correction the excel sheet is in its own topic called "Guns of the 41st Millennium"

You for the most part may have to make survival rolls in long exposure to certain conditions, as far as food your standard rations will sustain you at normal health. So you are fine unless you choose to lighten your load -out of speed or desperation-

As far as typing and speaking I will post a Microphone etiquete page and what belongs in the type box what belongs on the mic and what belongs in OOC type

Well as far as a "corrupt" guardsman depending on how corrupt someone might get a roll to detect abnormalities. however that is a bridge that will be crossed if we come to it.

Finally female guardsmen do exist. If there is a member of the group that feels they can accurately and unawkwardly play a female character(More than likely an actual female). I personally do not have a problem.

Can't take luck ;D there is a single use luck in the modified equipment though

Am I able to take training in squad weapons, i.e. grenade launcher/plasma gun even though I am not the squad weapon specialist?

Only if your a weapons specialist (you take the package to be able to use the skills listed), doesn't bar you from picking up the gun and firing away, but with a default we both know how a plasma gun will end.

Alright, done except for equipment, not sure where to find alot of the gear specified.
such as
Standard Issue Clothing
Combat Fatigues
Shirt
Undershirt
Socks x4
Undergarments
Greatcoat
Rain overalls
Combat boots and laces
Leg gaiters

well and most of the rest of it.
I can send you my char's file and you can insert the gear if you know where to find it.

Most of that stuff is just to keep true to cannon, All of that is pulled from the Infantryman's uplifting primer. Which lists the actual standardized gear given to a recruit. Also when someone wants to do somthing they dont have the exact gear for they can use a piece of that gear to help negate any negatives from not having proper gear to carry out a task. (mainly if we end up with any mcgyvers out there). Yes send me the GCA when you can, along with a token unless you wanna pick from my inventory of pics.

Ok that should do it, I uploaded my token and character save file on huddle(sans equipment I'm not paying any points for any extra magazines or other point costing stuff, just standard kit with auspex and vox).
I was going to change one of the quirks to hate warm/hot weather, likes cold/cool weather with a +1 to actions when its cold outside and a -1 when its warm/hot outside, but I'm not sure if that falls within the scope of a quirk.

sounds more like a perk/quirk that would cancel the point cost out

Ok, I'll just add a perk/quirk for that since they cancel each other out nothing gained except character flavor, nothing lost.
Also I uploaded a second picture/token for anton on huddle, the one with the shades is what I would prefer to use.

Thats fine, remember though youd have to come up with a point somewhere since youd essencially be adding a cp to your sheet (and replacing a quirk)

Also ditsey witsey me I added skills : brawling and karate to the available skilsl if you want either

All those making characters try to work on them soon, I don't want to have to review everyones sheets last minute, also if there is an issue with your sheet we can get it resolved sooner than later.

Assuming there is space for another player I'll either be a basic Lasrifleman or the Sergeant. I started playing Warhammer 40K with Rogue Trader and played some versions afterwards, along side Adeptus Titanicus, Epic and Necromunda. I have an Imperial Guard Army. I played an Inquisitor in a two year 40K rpg campaign and ran an Imperial Guard campaign. That said I'm not up on GW's latest and I haven't read the novels...

Excellent One sergeant reporting for duty. I'll have a first draft of my character to you in a few hours. How do you prefer it? GCA, PDF or Word .doc? My personal preference is for simple word document but I know how handy it is to have everyone's PC on the same format.

I have some questions about the Sergeant package.

Do I need to buy the Gear with points? I think it is 2 points each for binoculars, sword and laspistol totaling 6. Do I need to buy the sword skill?

Am I right in thinking that I don't get any extra points or free advantages as Sergeant? As Sergeant I'm still a 50 point character and I have to find the points for +1 mil rank and the skills (Tactics, Leadership and Strategy), and maybe gear (see first question) out of the 50 points, -40 for disadvantages and -2 for quirks?

EDIT: The gear isn't optional is it? I can't dump the sword and pistol and just have a lasgun can I?

The way I did Vox comms officer from what I was told is I made a custom advantage called Vox comms officer for 8 points.
After that I added electronics use comms/ electronics repair comms skills, which were allowed because I took the vox comms advantage. I also became eligible with the vox comms officer package to use and carry the squad vox unit.

o Military rank 2
o 10 Points into
Tactics
Leadership
Strategy
o Laspistol
o Combat Sword
o Binoculars
o 2 way vox helmet

so You should make a custom advantage Seargent worth 10 points.
You gain the military rank 2 advantage
and you must distribute 10 points between
Tactics, Leadership, Strategy. (you can add more points later if you want with what you have left over).
You gain a laspistol, combat sword, binoculars, and a 2way vox helmet in addition to your standard equipment.

A correction here, The sergeant advantage yields the following:

* Military rank two
* Las pistol
* Combat Sword
* binoculars
* 2-way vox helm
* The ability to put up to but not exceeding 10 points into the following skills:
o Strategy
o Leadership
o Tactics


The package advantages works kinda like a unique background advantage allowing you additional training from the imperial guard along with some signature gear.

As of right now the squad has no weapon stronger than a lasgun, new players may want to consider this

Not sure how to connect, I clicked "Connect to a server" it offers local which it isn't "Rptools.net" which needs a server name, and a username/password. Then direct connect which needs an address and a port to connect.
